Review:
Just being honest but I do love David Archuleta's debut album and his debut got so many potential hits but what makes it fell like a rock is wrong single choice by the label! This time he released his second (third if you include his Christmas album) album and all of you know it's not doing well. The first single "Something 'Bout Love" got positive message on it like don't ever give up on love or something like that but American radio did not gave this song a chance. "The Other Side of Down" which is the album opener sounded like David wanted to have a dance track on the album but failed to do so. His vocals is not compatible to dance music! "Elevator" is catchy and it's over loaded with David's falsetto but it's a great track with a very cheesy lyrics. "Stomping The Roses" & "Who I Am" is two different songs with insanely the same beat! "Falling Stars" started great but ended up a little average. "Parachute Airplanes" is a great pop track and even the title sounded ridiculous his vocals in chorus is pretty impressive! "Look Around" is supposed to be an upbeat song but David's vocals made it sound like a ballad and the annoying repetitive "Look around, Look around" made me skip the song. "Good Place" is a nice song but it's super familiar with his previous hit "Crush" (from his debut album) well if you listen closely to the verse of the song you will notice the similarity. "Complain" is a cool song with a very nice message it's like when you had a very bad day and things did not turned out the way you planned don't complain about it. "Things are Gonna Get Better" sounded like the continuation of "Complain" and I love that the song is just simple and stripped down from over produced beats. "My Kind of Perfect" is the album finale and it's good to have a ballad because it's David's strength she oops I mean he is a ballad type of person. Overall the album is nice! It's not outstanding but I do love some couple of tracks.
