Scotty McCreery Sets Records
Reigning American Idol and Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope artist Scotty McCreery debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and Top Country Albums charts with Clear As Day, making him the youngest male in history to open at the top of the all-genre chart with a debut release. This is also the highest first-week album sales of any solo country artist in 2011.
With first-week sales totaling 196,739, he is the first new country artist this year to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Scotty has the second-highest debut week for a new artist in all genres in 2011, behind rapper J.Cole. He is the first American Idol winner in eight years to land his debut album atop the Billboard 200 and the first country male singer from the show to do so. This is the first debut by a new country artist to top 100,000 in first-week sales since Carrie Underwood’s in 2005.
“My hopes were just to go out there and have fun and let people know that the album was out there. Everybody hopes for the number one, but you never really expect it. To see it up there is pretty incredible,” says Scotty, who turned 18 on Sunday. “It’s a very good birthday present! I can’t think of anything to top it!”
Scotty appeared on Today, Live with Regis and Kelly, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Ellen during release week, while the Oct. 3 premiere of GAC’s Introducing: Scotty McCreery earned high ratings. An estimated 15,000 people attended his Album Release Party Homecoming Concert and Birthday Celebration that was held at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, N.C. He was presented with a gold record by Mercury Nashville and Interscope staffers during the event to celebrate achieving a gold certification in digital sales for “I Love You This Big.”
“We are proud to be part of this project,” says Luke Lewis, chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group Nashville, which includes Mercury Nashville. “It couldn’t have happened to a nicer young man.”
Says American Idol Season 10 mentor Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M, "It's rare that someone with a truly honest voice has a first album that debuts at number one. It's an exciting thing to be a part of."
In May, Scotty won Season 10 of American Idol, becoming the youngest male winner in the show’s history. A record-breaking 122.4 million votes were cast for the finale. The final show garnered 29.3 million viewers and 38.6 million people tuned in to see the winner’s name announced.
He continues the success that began with Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, who premiered at No. 1 in 2003. For ten seasons, American Idol winners and finalists have steadily topped the Billboard charts. "What a fantastic few days this has been for Scotty," says Simon Fuller, creator and executive producer of American Idol, CEO/Founder of XIX Entertainment and Manager of Scotty McCreery. "He turned 18 on Sunday and now he has the number one-selling album in America, an incredible achievement for someone so young. Scotty is a true talent; he will stand the test of time and I am honored to be helping guide his career."
People magazine says, “From the moment the American Idol finalists first squared off last season, it was as clear as his baby blues that Scotty McCreery was a natural-born country star. After taking the title in May, the North Carolina native, who turns 18 on Oct. 9, brings his old soul, easy charm and—his killer weapon—that preternaturally deep voice to winning debut. Producer Mark Bright—whose credits include another American Idol, Carrie Underwood—wisely plays up McCreery’s traditional sensibility and rounds up some good tunes.”
Scotty will sing the national anthem at Game One of the World Series on Oct. 19.

iphone 4s and ipod touch in white!
I know I know this is a music blog but ya' know ipod is a music device! This year is a little disappointing update for the ipod. No increase in capacity and improvements in hardware just a new white model!
The iphone 4s however got the same design from last year's model but it got a more powerful camera and processor.
The iphone 4s however got the same design from last year's model but it got a more powerful camera and processor.
The good news is that ipod nano's price drops to just 129$ for the 8gb model. Other than that there are no major changes in the ipod nano and shuffle line-up. I will not be surprised if samsung takes a major lead next year!
Let's talk iphone! Are you ready?
The new iphone 5 and ipod line up will be revealed shortly! You can check the live blog here:

Avril Lavigne - Goodbye Lullaby (Album Cover) + Additional infos!
According to her official website Avril Lavigne.com:
December 7, 2010 – Two years in the making, singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne's fourth studio album, Goodbye Lullaby, will be released by RCA Records on March 8, 2011. Lavigne will debut the first single "What the Hell" on New Year's Eve during "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve."
Lavigne worked with longtime collaborators Deryck Whibley, Evan Taubenfeld and Butch Walker, as well as songwriter/producer Max Martin. Lavigne continues to share her personal experiences through her writing and music, and Goodbye Lullaby is a further evolution of this, propelled by a more raw and organic sound.
Among its upbeat tracks are "What the Hell," an unabashed embrace of fun and freedom, and "Stop Standing There," fueled by an early-‘50s girl-group feel. The album runs the gamut of emotions: Lavigne expresses her gratitude for special people in her life in the rocker "Smile," explores the dynamics of a relationship in "Push," shows her vulnerable side in "Wish You Were Here," and finds the strength to close one chapter of her life and move on to the next in the title track "Goodbye."
Avril Lavigne has made an indelible mark on the music community, selling more than 30 million albums worldwide, earning eight Grammy nominations and seven Canadian Juno Awards. She burst onto the music scene in 2002 with the critically acclaimed Let Go, featuring the smash singles "Sk8r Boi" and "Complicated." Her 2004 release, Under My Skin, debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, as did her third album, The Best Damn Thing, which produced the irrepressible #1 single "Girlfriend" and logged more than 130 million views on YouTube! Lavigne also wrote the song "Alice" for Tim Burton's critically acclaimed Disney Film Alice in Wonderland. For more information, visit www.AvrilLavigne.com.
I'm excited! Are you ready?

Ke$ha debuts at number 1 on BILLBOARD HOT 100!
Courtesy of: Billboard.com
Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" is set to become just the 17th song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 when the chart is officially released tomorrow (Nov. 4).
The track is the preview single from Ke$ha's forthcoming "Cannibal" album, set to be released on its own on Nov. 22 in addition to being packaged with her debut album, "Animal," in a deluxe edition titled "Animal Cannibal."
"We R Who We R" shifts 280,000 downloads in its initial week at retail, according to Nielsen SoundScan, to easily rank at No. 1 on Digital Songs, knocking Far*East Movement's "Like a G6" (178,000, down 13%) to No. 2 on both that chart and the Hot 100. "Like a G6" topped the latter list for the past two weeks and had led Digital Songs for three non-consecutive frames.
Ke$ha's track is also making an swift impact at radio, debuting at No. 49 on Radio Songs (up 81%) and jumping 36-23 on Pop Songs (up 124%).
"We R Who We R" is the second title this year to start its chart life at No. 1, following Eminem's "Not Afraid" in May. Prior to Eminem's debut, Britney Spears had been the last artist to enter at No. 1, with "3" in October 2009.
Ke$ha is no stranger to the top of the Hot 100. Earlier this year she became the 11th solo female to collect at least four Billboard Hot 100 top 10s from a debut album. First single "TiK ToK" topped the chart for nine weeks starting with the Hot 100 dated Jan. 2, 2010, followed by "Blah Blah Blah" (No. 7), "Your Love Is My Drug" (No. 4) and "Take It Off" (No. 8). In addition to those titles, Ke$ha had a top 10 appearance on 3OH!3's "My First Kiss" (No. 9) in May.

Congratulations to her! Nope, I will not call her the new country girl because I think she is more of a pop princess and Carrie Underwood is the country queen!
