Rihanna - Loud

Album: Loud
Artist: Rihanna
Release Date: November 12, 2010

Review:
It's only been a year since her last album "Rated R" and Rihanna is back again with her new album "Loud". I do like "Rated R" but what's cool with "Loud" is that it does not a creepy/dark theme. Rihanna is just having fun! The album started with "S&M" and it's like a fun and light version of "Disturbia". It's a great album opener! Based on the rumors it is planned to be the third single of the album. "What's My Name?" the second single and it featured Drake in the track. It's a little bit generic but the chorus is catchy and I have never been a fan of Drake. Some might find the track boring but others it will be their jam. "Cheers (Drink To That)" got a very nice beat and the chorus is fun. I would not consider this as a club song but it's more of a chill out song and I do love the vocals of this track (She sounded like Avril Lavigne on "Ayaya" part or maybe that's really Avril LOL!). "Fading" is a nice track but it sounded like Beyonce's left over from "I Am... Sasha Fierce". It's a pure pop break up song and I think the radio will love it! "Only Girl (In The World)" is the album's first single and it's a club song. It's a girl version of Usher's "Dj Got Us Falling In Love Again".  "California King Bed" well if you judge the title you might think it's a very upbeat song but it's not. It's a laid back and stripped down track and I love it! The vocals is really good. "Man Down" even tough I like her falsetto this track is silly. It's a slow beach song and it's an average track. "Raining Men" is a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and it's Rihanna's version of Beyonce's "Video Phone". "Complicated" is a very euro dance song and I love it. Nice vocals and futuristic sound makes me fall in love with the song. "Skin" is a sexy and slow song. The last track "Love The Way You Lie part 2" is a continuation of her number 1 hit with Eminem. I love the new verses that she added on the song. I prefer this over Alicia Key's "Empire State of Mind" part 2. I'm not a fan of "Love The Way You Lie part 1" but Rihanna's part makes me love the song. Overall, this album is a breath of fresh air from her previous dark & Evil themed albums. This album is pure pop and it's fully loaded with radio friendly songs. It's nice that Rihanna is evolving not just in music but also her vocals.

Rating: 4.5 out 5 stars.
